Vierivä Kivi ei sammaloidu
- a rolling Stone gathers no moss
Hi, I’m Sarah Kivi—singer-songwriter, music producer, and sound designer. For over a decade, I’ve been exploring the dynamic world of music and sound, driven by curiosity and a touch of boldness.
Though I started in music, I soon found that sound design provides a limitless playground for creativity. It allows me to blend real-world sounds with synthesized audio in inventive ways, opening up new possibilities to create any kind of sonic environment I can imagine.
Currently, my work focuses on exploring the nuanced intersections of memory, identity, and the overlapping realities that shape our lived experiences, with a primary emphasis on sound design. I am deeply interested in how sonic landscapes can both evoke and reconstruct fragmented memories, offering profound insights into our sense of self.
I am currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Theatre Arts with a specialization in sound design at the Theatre Academy Helsinki. My academic journey also includes a Bachelor of Arts from Catalyst Institute in Germany (2018) and a Bachelor of Media from Metropolia University of Applied Sciences (2014).
My work has been supported by the Arts Promotion Centre Finland, Espoo Cultural Fund, and The Finnish National Fund for Education (KSR) and the Foundation for Music Promotion (MES)
Whether I’m making music or designing sound, I’m always on the move—because a rolling stone gathers no moss!
